UPDATE > Nov 23, 2011: the “Information Security for SMEs” webcast can now be viewed in the SANS Webcast Archive at the URL below. The handout from the webcast is available below.
NOUVEL Strategies partner Jim Herbeck will be the featured speaker at a SANS Information Security Webcast on Nov 22, 3pm CET (9am EST). The webcast title is “Information Security for SMEs”:
Stories in the news about information security breaches often focus on high-profile corporations and multi-national organizations. This could create the impression that smaller organizations face a smaller risk of being hacked. "But that's not true!" says Jim Herbeck, presenter of this webcast on information security for SMEs. "Small- and medium-sized businesses face the same challenges as larger organizations in protecting the confidentiality and integrity of their data and the availability of their resources. At the same time, SMEs must develop and implement their information risk management and security program under the constraints imposed by a smaller budget and organization," Herbeck says. This webcast will offer an overview of information security that is appropriate for anyone who's responsible for managing, developing, or implementing information security at an SME.
This webcast is the first in a series of monthly webcasts developed to help small and medium enterprises improve their information security. Each webcast will address one area of information security for SMEs and offer tangible, pragmatic advice.
SANS Information Security Webcasts include live audio accompanied by a slide presentation. Participation is free, though registration is required.
