Press Release: The Geneva School of Business Administration launches a new competency center for cybersecurity
Feb 17, 2010
(Geneva, Switzerland) The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG: Haute École de Gestion) announces the launch of their new competency center in the field of information security: the Business Information Security Competency Center (CCSIE: le Centre de Compétence pour la Sécurité de l’Information des Entreprises).
The CCSIE’s goal is to provide pragmatic information to businesses about information security through business-oriented applied research and training courses for managers and security professionals. The Center will also provide a platform for information sharing among businesses, research organizations, and vendors.
The CCSIE is expanding the information security classes available at HEG. In addition to courses from the SANS Institute and HEG’s MBA MSSI, there will be new classes targeting information security for Small and Medium Businesses (SMB’s).
The first new SMB class is a series of three, 1-day classes, called the SMB-RISC series. The first session on March 25 addresses information- and IT-related risks at SMB’s. Unlike other training which targets IT or information security professionals, the SMB-RISC series focuses on SMB managers. Information about the SMB-RISC series can be found at the CCSIE website.
HEG Professor Rolf Hauri is the CCSIE’s founder and director. NOUVEL’s Jim Herbeck and Christophe Nemeth are co-founders and members of the advisory board.
