Press Release: NOUVEL’s Jim Herbeck to present SANS Institute webcast “Information Security for SMEs” on 22 Nov
Oct 24, 2011
(Geneva, Switzerland) NOUVEL Strategies partner Jim Herbeck will be the featured speaker at a SANS Information Security Webcast on Tuesday, 22 Nov, 3pm CET. The topic will be “Information Security for SMEs”:
Stories in the news about information security breaches often focus on high-profile corporations and multi-national organizations. This could create the impression that smaller organizations face a smaller risk of being hacked. "But that's not true!" says Jim Herbeck, presenter of this webcast on information security for SMEs. "Small- and medium-sized businesses face the same challenges as larger organizations in protecting the confidentiality and integrity of their data and the availability of their resources. At the same time, SMEs must develop and implement their information risk management and security program under the constraints imposed by a smaller budget and organization," Herbeck says. This webcast will offer an overview of information security that is appropriate for anyone who's responsible for managing, developing, or implementing information security at an SME.
This is the first webcast in the Information Security for SMEs Series. Each webcast addresses a specific area of information security and offers pragmatic advice for SMEs. Details about the series can be found at the NOUVEL website: http://nouvelstrategies.com/InfoSec-for-SMEs
SANS Information Security Webcasts are web broadcasts, including live audio while viewing presentation slides. Participation is free, though registration is required. Details can be found at the SANS website: http://www.sans.org/webcasts
The webcast is scheduled for 3pm CET (Central European Time), 2pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), 9am EST (US Eastern Standard Time) on Tuesday, 22 Nov 2012.
Note: In the US, SMEs are more commonly referred to as Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs).
